Special Meeting Notice!

Dear Brothers and Sisters:

A special meeting of the Chicago Journeymen Plumbers’ L.U. 130 U.A. will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. in the Stephen M. Bailey Auditorium.

The progress of the ongoing negotiations with the Plumbing Contractors Association of Chicago will be discussed at this important meeting. We look forward to seeing you there.

Local 130 is not on Strike!

Attention Brothers & Sisters

At our special meeting held on May 24, 2010 the members of Plumbers Local 130 were presented the latest offer that Business Manager James T. Sullivan and the negotiating team had received from the Plumbing Contractors Association Labor Relations Committee.

This offer was overwhelmingly rejected by the members present at this meeting. A motion was then made and seconded to proceed with a strike authorization vote. This strike authorization vote was passed by a huge majority.

The officers have been given the authority by the membership to call a strike, but that has not happened. The Bargaining Team will continue to meet in good faith with the Plumbing Contractors Association and attempt to reach a fair and equitable contract for its members. Any member working for a contractor should continue to go to work. It is our hope that a new Collective Bargaining Agreement will be reached very soon.

Important Notice:

License Renewal Process Moves Online

The Chicago Department of Buildings’ License Bureau reported an important service improvement that should make license renewal efforts for plumbing contractors more convenient and efficient. Effective immediately, electrical contractors and supervising electricians, plumbing contractors, journeymen plumbers, apprentices and masonry contractors with “A” and “B” and “C” licenses will be able to take advantage of the Department’s new Online License Renewal System. Use of the new online license renewal system is mandatory for upcoming renewals for calendar year 2010-11.

If you have not already renewed your license, you must log into the online licensing renewal system and renew your license. The City of Chicago has extended the renewal deadline to June 30, 2010, to provide you with sufficient time to explore the Web site and complete the online renewal process. Simply log onto the City of Chicago Online Permits page, (no later than June 30th, 2010,). You will then be prompted to create a new login number for your account if you do not already have an existing online permitting login. New Local 130 Remittance Report

Attention all Local 130 Contractors!

The new Local 130 Remittance Report will be used beginning May 1, 2010, for hours worked in April 2010. The old report will no longer be accepted.

Please Note: If you have a CD containing the Contractor Report, that report was for demonstration purposes and is not for final use. Please download the latest version of the report using the link below.

TJ Albergo wins State Apprentice Contest

Anthony Albergo (TJ) won first place in this years State Apprentice Contest, March 17-19, in Mokena, IL beating out many other apprentices from around the state. TJ placed first last year in the Local 130 3rd year Apprentice Contest.
