Death Benefits

The Welfare Fund provides a death benefit to the beneficiaries of Covered Employees through an insurance policy with Aetna. A beneficiary is entitled to receive $25,000 upon the death of a Covered Employee.

Covered Employees should contact the Fund Office to obtain the necessary forms to designate a beneficiary.

Disability Benefits

The Welfare Fund provides a disability benefit of $250.00 per week when a Covered Employee is disabled due to an injury, sickness, or pregnancy. Benefits are payable for a disability as a result of an injury or if the disability begins within 20 days after the date of the accident causing the disability.

The disability benefits are payable for up to 52 weeks. A Covered Employee’s eligibility for benefits payable after 26 weeks must be reviewed by the Welfare Fund’s medical consultant.

Covered Employees should contact the Fund Office to obtain the appropriate claim form.
