Welfare Fund - Technical Engineering Division
Under retiree self-pay, a Covered Employee that retires at age 63 can continue coverage through the Welfare Fund for the Covered Employee and the Covered Employee’s spouse. Covered Employees are eligible for coverage until the earlier of 24 months or Medicare eligibility and spouses are eligible until the earlier of eight years or Medicare eligibility. There is a monthly charge for this benefit which is set by the Trustees. Detailed information regarding eligibility and the available benefits can be obtained from the Fund Office and can also be found in the Summary Plan Description.
