Plumbing License Pre-Test Review Classes

These License Exam Reviews are designed to prepare members who are scheduled to sit for the City Plumbing License Exam. Members MUST contact the City to schedule this exam. Neither the JAC nor the Local 130 schedule the exam on behalf of members.

Note: The License Application Form, available at either the Bureau of Licensing and Registration or at the Local 130 Office, needs to be notarized: Local 130 performs this service for members at no charge. Please contact the Local 130 UA office regarding this service.

City of Chicago Journeymens License Exam Test dates:

Written Test	Practical Test
February 9th, 2008	April 19th, 2008
June 7th, 2008	August 9th, 2008
October 11th, 2008	December 6th, 2008

Test Format

The City Plumbing License Exam has two parts; written and practical. The License Exam Reviews reflect this by offering separate review classes for each License Exam part. Reviews are not designed to replace the normal JAC Night School Classes.

Note: License Review classes are open to Local 130 members only. There are no fees.

Written Review

The written review is a 6 night course designed to prepare members for taking the written portion of Plumbers License Exam. Apprentices must have completed 4 years under their Apprentice Plumbing License to qualify to sit for the exam.

After a member passes the written portion of the Plumbers License Exam, the City Licensing Board will schedule the member for the second part of the License Exam, the Practical Review.

Practical Review

The Practical Review is a 2 night class which reviews drawing, mathematics and a copper project.

Requirements

Members MUST bring a current Chicago Code Book and Plumbers Helper Pocket Manual to the Review Classes.
